As part of the National Food Safety Audit Policy, this course is designed to provide competency in the skills and knowledge of food safety auditing in the context of food safety legislation and client requirements. This course will focus on how the identification, evaluation and control of food safety hazards, audit communication and the conduct of on-site food safety audits, relevant to regulatory and commercial food safety system auditors, who may be auditing low, medium or high risk food safety hazards. This course is the minimum requirement for approval as a Regulatory Food Safety Auditor in WA.

Purpose

This program is specifically designed for you to be competent as a food safety auditor, in line with 4 nationally recognised units of competencies for food safety auditors. It is part of the National Food Safety Qualification that is developed by the Agri-food Skills Council of Australia.  These four auditing units are certified by RABQSA International and will give you the skills, knowledge and competencies required to conduct food safety audits in Australia. If you just require internal auditing skills and knowledge, you can just complete the first unit, Assess compliance with food safety programs in a 2 day workshop.

This course is designed to enable participants to have hands on experience in preparing for and conducting a food safety audit.
